Beard itch is probably one of the biggest frustrations men experience when growing and maintaining a beard. If you’re going to be growing a beard, you WILL experience itch. But you can greatly reduce it. Beard itch causes more men to shave off their beard than any other frustration.
We want to save you from that fate! We're going to share with you the formula for how to kick beard itch in the teeth once and for all.
FIRST OF ALL, WHY DO BEARDS ITCH?
Well there are several reasons, including:
- The climate you live in. How or humid or dry it is
- If your skin isn’t clean, it will start to itch
- Your skin creates its own oils, called Sebum. Your beard draws these oils away from your face as your beard grows, causing dry skin
- The products you've been using may be contributing to the itch
- Itch also happens because of the sharp beard hairs jabbing into your skin.
NOW, WHAT CAN YOU DO TO STOP THE ITCH?
There are all sorts of things you can do to combat beard itch. And choosing one here and there will help a great deal, but if you really want to get rid of beard itch altogether, you need to do a series of things on a regular basis, in unison. Doing all of these things together will ensure beard itch goes away:
1. CLEAN YOUR BEARD AND FACE REGULARLY
Keeping your face and beard clean is essential. If you're not keeping your beard and face clean, you might as well skip the other steps listed here. This will take some trial and error, but try several wash's and conditioners formulated for your beard.
The key will be finding products that don't dry out your beard, and that you can use on a regular basis without having to worry about it doing long-term damage. We like to use a wash and conditioner that we can use on a daily basis. Something that is mild and doesn't completely strip everything away from your beard. The key is to strike a good balance between keeping everything clean, and something that is not too harsh.
2. USE A PREMIUM ALL-NATURAL BEARD OIL
There's a very good reason why beard oil exists, and why it will always be the most popular beard product ever. It's because if you are using an all-natural beard oil with premium oils inside, nothing will do a better job at hydrating your beard and skin.
Beard oil was made for the skin, but does an amazing job on the beard itself as well. After you get out of the shower and have used a wash and conditioner, apply beard oil to a damp beard. Work it into the skin underneath, and any excess on the beard itself. This will do an amazing job at hydrating your skin, and your beard at the same time.
Absolutely avoid any beard oils with alcohol, or synthetic substances, or preservatives. These products can leave your skin and beard much worse than before, leading to even more itch.
3. LOCK IN THE MOISTURE
After you've used a high quality beard oil, the key to lasting relief from beard itch comes from locking in all that moisture underneath. There are products formulated for exactly this purpose. They are usually in the form of a beard butter, beard balm, or beard cream.
Once again, look for products that contain only all-natural ingredients. Key ingredients to make sure these products have are: shea butter or all-natural beeswax. These two ingredients do an amazing job at locking in all the moisture underneath, but still allowing your skin pores to breath.
Make sure that you're using the steps above in unison for the best results possible, and for lasting relief your beard itch forever.
